Exploitation Now: Done With It All

Exploitation Now: Done With It All is on an indefinite delay, but it has NOT been cancelled. Essentially, we realized that this product is too complex and expensive to produce for us to be able to finance it with pre-orders as we'd originally planned, and we do not have the capital to finance it any other way at this time. So, we are looking for a publisher for this book, and we will ship once we have been able to find one. We've made SOME progress recently (01-2008) and got a much more feasible quote from a printer in China at the start of this month (for hardcover, even!). Unfortunately, said quote still requires $30k which we don't have, so it may be some time yet before the book is printed. We haven't given up, though, and we are very definitely still working on it!

If you pre-ordered this book, you are still guaranteed a copy, and so long as you keep your CUSTOMER address up to date using the My Account functions when you log in, the book will someday arrive at that address, as promised. We may also send out bonus gifts in the meantime or with the books themselves, as our thank-you for your continued patience. If, given this situation, you want to cancel your pre-order at this point, we understand perfectly and we can offer you a store credit, but we are unable to offer monetary refunds due to the nature of the product and how small our business is.

Pre-Orders In General

You may notice that some of our items are marked as pre-orders. What this means is that these are items that are ready to be produced, but they are not yet in stock. Usually, once we put something up for pre-order in the store, it has either already been ordered from the manufacturer, or it is about to be ordered. That way, we can guarantee you a ship-by date for your pre-order, and you won't have to worry about random delays or cancellations, because the product's production is already a sure thing.

We offer pre-orders for a number of reasons:

1) For things like t-shirt sizes, we're never quite sure how many of which size we'll need unless we offer an item for pre-order. That way, we can be more precise about quantities when we place our order with the manufacturers. Also, most of the plus sizes or babydolls cost us more to order, so we can't plan to keep them in stock, but we CAN offer them as pre-orders so that those who wear those sizes still have a chance to get something that fits.

2) In some cases, such as items where we plan to make only a small number at once, offering the item for pre-order is the only way to enable you to guarantee you'll get that item. It helps you to be sure you'll get the item you want, and it helps us to be sure that everyone has a fair chance to get one of a limited number of items. It also makes it easier for us to manage the naturally higher number of orders when we first release a new item... pre-orders can be partially processed while the item is still being manufactured, and this speeds up the final delivery time.

3) Every time we add a new item to the store, we have to pay the manufacturers of that item in advance... long before the item ever arrives for us to sell. By offering pre-orders, we're able to lessen the amount of debt we have to take on every time there's a new product. Long term, this makes it possible for us to keep adding new products fairly quickly, and it increases the variety that we can make available in our store.

So, essentially, pre-orders are a vital part of keeping the store active and growing. The fewer pre-orders we get, the fewer items we're able to produce in a year, and the less income the store can generate online and at conventions. The more pre-orders we get, the more solid the store's position, and the more we're able to risk to bring in new items.

Lastly, it should be noted that pre-orders are processed differently from other orders. When you pre-order, we set your invoice aside until we have all the products ready to ship, then we ship your order out all together. We never spilt your order up to deliver it in parts. It's still guaranteed to ship on time (by the ship-by date in the listing for the pre-ordered item), but if you need the other items on your order before about a week after that date, we STRONGLY recommend that you order them separately so that they can be shipped out immediately instead.
